"Not Today Honey"

So this has been a very fun week indeed. We started out our week with Kairi waking up on Monday morning early about 4am with a low fever...We thought it was just a 24 hour flu that she would be ok in a bit b/c she had the flu shot didn't think much of it, so we gave her some Children's Advil and she went back to sleep. Well all day Monday she was really cuddly, Kairi is NOT cuddly she wants to run around all the time the only one she cuddles with is her Poppa. So I figured she had to be sick, I kept a watch on her Fever and it stayed around 99.3 all day so thought well we will just keep trying to get her to drink fluids. This wasn't hard she was thirsty, and hungry. She complained about her tummy hurting her but never got sick. Well late Monday night around 9:30 we checked her fever and it had gone up to 103.2. I called my dad to come over and Aaron and my dad gave her a blessing. Well Kairi also developed a cough as well...

My dad suggested that we get that cough looked at the next day. I made an appointment on Tuesday and took her in. Of course anytime Kairi gets sick her pediatrician is never in the office so she always sees another Dr. but that's ok since the Doctors at her pediatrician office is super nice. Well the final on what she had was indeed Croup. "CROUP??" what is that? I had never heard of it I will be honest, basically it's a really bad cold and cough, associated with a high fever. So the Doctor gave us a prescription for some Steroids and sent us on our way.

Well, first of all I DO NOT like Steroids, Aaron was on Steroids b/c of strep throat a few months ago. He turned into a meany, I love him but he was really on edge all the time it was hard I didn't know what would irritate him.So here I was getting the same drug for my 3 year old daughter who was already very hyper as is without a Steroid. The Pharmacist told me that she could get irritated, hyper, angry, or it might not affect her. Well luckily it was the hyper in some ways. She seemed Bi-Polar for a few hours she would go from cuddly to I want to run around to cuddly again and then run around... Then her cough got worse or so I thought. I took her back in Friday and the Doctor said it's ok her cough actually is better not worse..I thought yay! we are getting over this! I was wrong.

Friday Night...I developed symptoms but tried not to think too much about it...A fever 100.2 and a sore throat. By Saturday I was feeling tired and exhausted. And then it got worse...Lilly woke up with a Fever on Saturday with 101.2, but I thought positively that it could just be her teeth... she has another one coming in so it has to be that.

Well that brings us to today it's Sunday luckily Aaron is still healthy but I am hoping that is because he worked all last week and wasn't home much with school and work. So Kairi still has a slight cough now and then, I am officially low fever with a cough and a dang nose that can't make up it's mind whether is wants to run or stay stuffy. And our little Lilly is still running a fever around 101 with a slight runny nose now and then and a little cough.

So with the whole family not feeling up to their best but Kairi almost back where she usually is. Aaron suggested at dinner "Hey Kairi, after dinner do you want to make some sugar cookies and Decorate them...we can make them into pumpkins and brooms whatever you want." without skipping a beat and looking Aaron straight in the face Kairi says "No Honey, not today." Both Aaron and I about Died laughing. Later on when we were setting things up Kairi warmed right up to wanting to make cookies.

We had a blast Lilly decorated a moon and Kairi decorated a House and a Kitty. Aaron of course did a Pumpkin and so did I. It was a fun time and sure got mommy's mind off of all the sickness that has been going around in the house this last week. Kairi is so excited for Halloween tomorrow she can't wait to wear her Rapunzel outfit again. I am sure we might go out to a few places but that will all depend on how our little Lilly is doing.

We did have a blast decorating our front door as Frankenstein for Halloween and mommy and daddy still aren't sure what we will be, Aaron thinks he should go as mommy and mommy will go as daddy...I am sure we could pull it off. Turned out to be a fun day, despite all the colds in the house :D

Until next time we hope you all have a fabulous evening. ~the Winbergs :D
